What’s on Easter…

It’s all happening at THE POSTAL MUSEUM this Easter. From arts and crafts workshops and model making to film screenings and an eggs-tra special Easter egg hunt, there’s loads for mini explorers to enjoy as part of an Aardman and arts special. Activities include Shaun the Sheep model making, make a selfie stamp sculpture, design your own tote bag and Gromit model making. Events start from 9 April.

Head on down to the NATIONAL ARMY MUSEUM for lots of Easter fun from workshops galore. Make your own cap badge, make a digital poster and become an inventor. Events running from 6 April.

Join the LONDON TRANSPORT MUSEUM over Easter for special events where you can meet illustrators who have captured their favourite London stories in this year’s Poster Prize for Illustration, listen to them share their stories and take part in themed crafty activities.

The SCIENCE MUSEUM welcomes back it’s phenomenally popular interactive gaming event Power Up this Easter. Explore four decades of gaming history with 160 consoles and hundreds of games, right from retro arcade classics such as Space Invaders through to the latest in VR technology. From Pong and Pacman to Sonic and Super Smash Bros there is something for everyone! Running from 6 April.

Enjoy the Easter weekend at the HORNIMAN MUSEUM with the whole family. Go on an easter trail, create something crafty in their workshops, sit down for some storytelling, have your face painted and join in family activities across the Gardens. Running on 20 and 21 April.

Plenty on offer at the NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM this Easter from family photography sessions, Animal Hunts, Mysterious Map workshops and create your own Miniature Museum. Events running from 8 April.

Celebrate the opening of Beasts of London at the MUSEUM OF LONDON with an animal inspired programme of activities over the Easter holidays. Explore beastly London with a range of storytelling sessions, craft workshops including a wild drawing adventure, a sewing workshop and more. Running from 6 April.

Travel through time at the MUSEUM OF LONDON DOCKLANDS with their storyteller as she recounts the history of street art in London. Other activities include a Morse Code Master workshop, The Railway Children storytelling, and a Historical Spy School. Running from 6 April.

Get in the pirate spirit at the MUSEUM OF CHILDHOOD with a series of workshops, performances and activities this Easter celebrating the final weeks of A Pirate’s Life for Me. Activities include creating a wearable pirate costume, bandana making, a Pirate camp and The Great and Odorous Captain Putrid interactive storytelling. Booking on some activities is required.

Get creative at the BRITISH MUSEUM on 15 April with family activities inspired by the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch. Make your own artwork, create something to take home and try your hand at printing.

Head to TATE MODERN on 16 April for a day of movement and creativity for children and young people. Children and families are welcome to drop in and make movement with Trinity Laban each hour on the hour. Join Trinity Laban practitioner Amy Robinson for half hour creative exploration through movement.

Head to the SIR JOHN SOANES MUSEUM on 13 April for a Little Imprints family workshop. Combine plants, architecture models and recycled materials to make your own green planet, or kokedoma world.

Join the RAF MUSEUM for an Animal Easter Trail. The Easter bunny has lots of his animal friends in the museum, come and find them and find out why they might be hiding underneath their aircraft. You will receive a chocolate prize when you find all the animals. Running from 8 April.

The FOUNDLING MUSEUM are running a Star Baker: House Challenge workshop where you can shape your own fantasy house from biscuits on 9 April. You can also create your own pull along home on 11 April and become a composer and create a piece of music which expresses your individuality on 16 April.

Discover hidden bunnies at the MUSEUM OF BRANDS while travelling through the Time Tunnel with their Bunny Hop and Seek trail. Amongst the toys, sweets and breakfast cereals from generations of childhood memories, hunt out Peter Rabbit, Bugs Bunny, Thumper from Bambi, and more. Running from 6 April.
